Managing Backups & Snapshots

Disaster Recovery is a core feature of Ray Hosting. We provide tools to manage Server Files Snapshots and Database Dumps (MySQL).

Automated Snapshots

You can configure a recurring schedule to automatically back up your server data.

1. Go to the Backups tab.
2. Click to schedule a server files backup.
3. Set the Repeat Period (Daily, Weekly, Monthly) and select the specific Date and Time.
4. Auto-Purge: To save your storage slots, the system will automatically purge automated snapshots after 10 Days.

Manual Backups

While there is no dedicated "Manual Backup" button, you can trigger an immediate backup by:

1. Adjusting your existing backup schedule to a time just a few minutes in the future.
2. Saving the changes.
3. Once the backup completes, you can revert the schedule to your preferred time.

Downloading Backups

We highly recommend keeping local copies of your most important data.

• Via SFTP: You can use an FTP client like FileZilla or WinSCP to connect to your server.
• Navigate to the /backups folder on your instance to find and download your individual snapshots to your local computer for safekeeping.

Restoring Data

• To restore a previous state, locate the backup in your list and click Restore.
• You can specifically choose to restore Server Files Snapshots or Restore DB for Database Dumps.
