Connecting to Your Server

Once your server has been set up and shows as Active, you're ready to jump in, manage your files, and take total control of your server.

1. Direct Gameplay Connection

Each game server gets its own unique primary IP address and port.

Finding Your Server Address

1. Go to your client dashboard and select your server.
2. In the Connection Info box, grab the IP:Port address (e.g., 185.122.45.10:25565).

How to Join by Game Type

[!TIP] Banish the Ping For the lowest possible latency and a lag-free experience, make sure you choose a server location closest to you and your mates when setting up the server.

2. Secure File Transfer (SFTP)

To upload mods, customise config files, or move game saves around, connect via secure FTP using a third-party client like FileZilla or WinSCP.

SFTP Connection Parameters

• Protocol: SFTP - SSH File Transfer Protocol
• Host / IP: sftp.ray-hosting.com (Double check your specific node address in the connection info box)
• Port: 2022 (Standard SFTP port for our containerised environments)
• Username: user_xxxx (Your unique container account ID)
• Password: Your client account password

[!IMPORTANT] Keep it Secret, Keep it Safe Never share your SFTP login details. Anyone with these credentials gets total read and write access to your entire server container.

3. Creating a Custom Subdomain

If you don't fancy sharing ugly numbers and ports with your community, you can set up a neat, customised subdomain instead.

Setting Up a Subdomain Alias

1. Open the Subdomains page in your server panel.
2. Type in your desired prefix (e.g., pvp-classic).
3. Pick from the available domain extensions (e.g., raynode.link).
4. Click Create Subdomain.

[!NOTE] DNS Propagation Newly registered subdomains are created instantly on our DNS cluster, but it might take 2 to 5 minutes to propagate globally depending on your local ISP.
